From Sleepless Nights to Leather Days: My CPAP Journey and Upcoming CLAW Adventure

Published on 13 January 2025 at 06:30

Last night, I had a sleepover at the lab with a twist—CPAP masks, wires galore, and a whole lot of unexpected surprises!

As the night unfolded, I tried on different CPAP masks like a fashion show in a sci-fi movie. I started with the nasal pillows, but exhaling felt like trying to blow out birthday candles in a wind tunnel. So, we switched to a mask that covered my nose, and voilà—I was breathing like a pro.

By midnight, I was wired up like a Christmas tree, only to be woken up with a surprise visit from the techs—apparently, my ‘up and down’ breathing needed some fine-tuning! They adjusted the electrodes, and I drifted back to sleep, dreaming of more stable rhythms.

It’s been a lot to process, but I’m really excited about what this means for my health. Turns out, sleep apnea might have been tagging along with me my whole life, causing unexplained symptoms like migraines, inattention, and general anxiety. Who knew a sleep lab could feel like a scene from a sci-fi movie? I went from ‘Sleeping Beauty’ to ‘Wired Wonder’ in no time. It’s amazing how a simple machine could be the fairy godmother to my sleep troubles!

In other news, registration for CLAW (Cleveland Leather Annual Weekend) opened yesterday at 7 p.m. It’s one of the largest yearly leather events in the USA, featuring a weekend of leather and fetish parties and fun.  I’m planning to attend all three days as with Max the pug, working the check-in desk and participating in various events, including speed dating in honor of Valentine’s Day. I’d love to meet some of you there.

All the info is on the claw website including open registration. Ticket cost holding you back? Consider volunteering for free admission. I am!
